| The Twin Valley Fire Department attended the National Night Out event held at Friendship Park on Tuesday evening, August 4. Caernarvon Township hosted the successful community event, bringing together residents, first responders, local organizations, and township personnel for an evening of engagement and community spirit.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign held in most states on the first Tuesday in August. The event is designed to strengthen relationships between residents, law enforcement, firefighters, EMS personnel, and other community organizations while promoting safety awareness and neighborhood connections.
Activities throughout the evening included safety demonstrations, children's activities, community resource exhibits, Twin Valley Coffee with light refreshments and snacks. They had opportunities to meet police officers, firefighters, EMS crews, the Caernarvon Township Road Crew. Attendees had the chance to learn more about the services and resources available within their community.
One of the highlights of the evening was the Twin Valley Fire Department's new Tower Truck. Community members were invited to explore the apparatus, sit inside the truck, and take photographs. Children also enjoyed receiving Twin Valley Fire Department helmets and other complimentary giveaways.
The event provided an excellent opportunity for the Fire Department to connect with residents outside of emergency situations and showcase how its members work to keep the community safe. Building relationships with community members and fellow emergency service organizations is an important part of the department's mission, and National Night Out offered the perfect setting to do so.
The goal of National Night Out is to promote police-community partnerships, crime prevention awareness, and neighborhood camaraderie, helping to create safer and more connected communities. The Twin Valley Fire Department was pleased to see such strong community participation and hopes the event continues as a valued annual tradition.
