Attentive Neighbor Saves Home in Warwick
By Assistant Fire Chief Jason Brooks
November 3, 2013
At 1:17pm, while crews were still at the station cleaning up from another fire, the department and mutual aid units were dispatched for a house fire on Warwick Road in Warwick Township. Engine 69-2 and 69-5 arrived onscene finding a wood pile on fire behind the house, with minor extension into the home's siding. A neighbor had discovered the fire and alerted the residents after pulling the wood stack away from the house. After calling 911, the fire was knocked down by the home owners using a garden hose and buckets. Fire crews extinguished the remainder of the fire and cooled down the side of the home, while checking the interior of the structure using a thermal imaging camera. The assignment was held to TVFD and the mutual aid units were recalled. Crews remained onscene while the fire marshal investigated and the area was overhauled.
All units cleared at 2:36pm.
