At 11:48pm, TVFD and EMS was dispatched to a vehicle accident involving fire on Route 401 in East Nantmeal. Responding units were advised of a one vehicle accident fully involved in fire, with unknown extent of injuries. Engine 69-1 and Rescue 69 arrived confirming the report, and began fire suppression on the vehicle and nearby wooded area. Upon further investigation, it was determined the single occupant driver had succumb to injuries. Fire units remained for an extended time to provided scene lighting during the investigation. Fire police from TVFD and Ludwig's Corner closed Route 401 for several hours, and safely detoured traffic around the area.
