By TVFD
July 25, 2017

At 10:07pm, TVFD was dispatched for a search detail on Trythall Road in Warwick. State Police were requesting assistance in searching for two lost hikers. Responding units were advised by Chester County's 911 Center that they had the subjects on cell phone and they were not injured, but got lost in the woods when the sun set. Crews from Rescue 69, Engine 69-1, Utility 69, and ATV 69 entered the woods along "Horseshoe Trail" and a nearby quarry that was the last location observed through GPS locator. Squad 69 and fire police closed the roadway and detoured traffic around the scene. Through the use of air horns, sirens, flashing lights and the assistance from the dispatch center in contact with the hikers, the individuals were located within 30 minutes of arriving on location. The subjects were turned over to the State Police and TVFD units were released.

Units cleared at 11:10pm.

Units: Rescue 69; Engine 69-1; Utility 69; ATV 69; Squad 69; Fire Police
