At 10:07am, TVFD was dispatched to a truck fire on Route 176 southbound in the area of Route 23 in Caernarvon Berks. Responding units were advised of hay bales on the back of a truck on fire, and the operator was attempting to dump them onto the roadway. Engine 69-5 and Chief 69 (Hornberger) arrived confirming the report and requested a tanker from Lancaster Station 34 (Churchtown) to assist. All crews worked together on extinguishment and overhaul, and keeping the fire from spreading to nearby brush. Units remained assisting with traffic control and removal of debris.
